O.K. - so the big day(s) draw near. What is it you are dreading the most about our upcoming reunion?
For me, it would be people not wearing their name badges and approaching me and saying "remember me?" For one thing (as many of you have confessed) I too, have CRS. For another thing, I've lived so far away for so long that my memory just doesn't get jogged that often, and I've left my crutch (the yearbook) at home.
There has been excellent build-up for the reunion in various formats... and that has been both fun and informational.
So, what's your biggest fear or potential pet peeve? Let's get 'em all out on the table before Friday, so we can all play nice!

My only angst is my failing health. While on a camping/hiking vacation in VA. I had trouble breathing. What I thought would be a quick trip to the ER (oxymoron?) to get my asthma Rx refilled turned into 3 hours of tests and a Dx of Mono! No wonder I'm wheezing on the AT!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to say no "rough housing" (the very young Dr.s code word)for me. So count me out of the mosh pit. See you all soon

ReplyDeleteThank goodness for the yearbook & reading this blog to refresh my memory. I don't keep in touch-not one of my better qualities. I joined Facebook because I thought it was exciting, then never accepted friends because the whole thing scared me. I'm looking forward to seeing people face to face ...even if I can't remember who they are!
ReplyDeleteSabrina: Tell our friend Susan H. to tell her mother that I'll be using five 3X5 index cards in an attempt to keep whatever needs to be said organized. A little trick learned in eighth grade that has served me quite well over the years. ... And now, to the toupee store!
ReplyDeleteYou really want to see angst? I should post a picture of what the stone ledge on the fireplace in my living room looks like this morning.
ReplyDeleteah...with all the loose ends to tie up, and the stress level( AND GRAY HAIRS) that follow...my fear is that all will look like their going to their 20th reunion and I will look like im going to my 50th !
ReplyDeleteMaggie sorry to hear about ur health....u can lean on our arms :)...
oh yeah, another dreaded nightmare...i'll show up in jeans and all the other ladies will be in their sequined evening gowns !!! ( private joke.... or is it !!!)
REALLY, I am very much looking forward to meeting some NEW friends !
Jeans? C'mon, ladies, it's a Saturday night out at Perona Farms. Strut your stuff. If you've got it, flaunt it!
ReplyDeleteThrow out your hands!!
Stick out your tush!!
Hands on your hips
Give them a push!!
(Just trying to throw in some last-minute confusion in people's heads, for the fun of it.) Don't worry, a 3X5 stick-on name tag can cover at least one imperfection.
Are those cards 3 feet by 5 feet? Now that would cover up imperfections!
ReplyDeleteLadies - rebel... It seems like Mr. Summertime Casual, had become the fashion police!
ReplyDeleteOne word: cleavage.
ReplyDeleteWhat's that? I know what you're thinking ... that ship has passed ... or drooped, as the case may be. No worries ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFAfyO4Jp_g
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember in grammar school when Connie S. had the nickname of "Turkey" for a while. Why? ... Because she stuffed! ... Connie didn't (stuff), of course, but it made for a good nickname.
ReplyDeleteI was just discussing that in an e-mail with someone the other day. Oh, the joys of reunion planning! I'm gonna miss it, I'll admit.
We'll just have to keep this blog going with post-reunion discussions. Using Ed's analogy, we know that given the time Saturday night, we can't "speed date" with everyone, so we'll have to catch up and debrief here. I am so thankful to those of you who have lit up brain cells I swore were burnt out circuits . . . now if I could just find my keys...
ReplyDeleteIt just dawnd on me (I know - I'm slow...). Are those name badges really 3" x 5"? What's that - LARGE font for us old folks?
ReplyDeleteIt's actually 2 1/3" x 3 3/8" ... the printing is mine (sometimes bad, sometimes O.K. penmanship.
ReplyDeleteThe ones with photos? Some photos are bigger than others. And some names are shorter (and longer) than others. So I'd like to think that each peel-and-stick name tag is unique and special, much like the people who'll be wearing them.
It'll be interesting to see how much squinting is needed, depending on the person who's doing the looking.
