Well, That Was Fun

Good times, good memories. Most of all, fantastic friends and overall wonderful people. Thanks to all 200+ (a few didn't show, a few others did show) who made a much-fretted-over Reunion Weekend for me an off-the-charts hoot!

P.S. -- Hope we'll all keep in mind to keep this blog fresh with frequent memory boosters, humorous topics, and just general what-we're-all-up-to postings.

  1. Kudos to Mike for all his effort and what a sucessful reunion! Great to see those OLD faces! Didn't get to hook up with everyone but Mike is absolutely correct - keep this blog going! How about somewhere to paste up all of the photos that Rick took? (hopefully with the names on each!) Not being ultra tech savvy, do we need a website to do that?
If there's costs involved (Rick's and/or website costs)- I'm in for a piece of that action. I'd love to see it done here on this blog....

  2. Yes, Kudos to Mike once again! Awesome reunion! As you mentioned Walt, didn't get to hook up with everyone. As a matter of fact, I saw you from a distance while speaking w/another classmate and I never did get to say hello! So hello! Before I knew it the evening was over! Like you said in an earlier blog Ed, "it was going to be like speed dating". You and I did get to say a quick hello, but I had wanted to talk a little more with you and that never happened. Glad we were able to get caught up a bit here and on facebook before the reunion. I took many pictures which I hope to put up on facebook shortly and I'm looking forward to seeing all the ones Rick took. As I told people on facebook, who may not have gotten a card from Rick or his son, his website is http://housemix.lifepics.com and you need to enter the event code which is CR072509. The pictures are not posted there yet, but I imagine they will be soon. Hope everyone made it home safely!

  4. Hey, ditto on all the "reunion exceeded my wildest imagination" comments...
If everyone who is interested goes back to the "Older Posts" link on this blog, and reads the "Blogging 101" instructions, I'll do my best to let anyone on who wants to post stories or photos from the reunion for those who couldn't attend. Give me until tomorrow to post some of my own pictures from various events surrounding the reunion. (I'll have to go to the Sussex Co. library for wireless access.) I didn't take even one photo AT the reunion. Let's throw our business Rick's way for professional quality candid pics. We can post our own here and on FaceBook. Let me know if you'd like to, but can't seem to manage, and I'll post; but please identify people in the photos 'cause like Ellen said - I didn't get a chance to speak with everyone there. So many people, such little time.

  7. Andrea - I'll be in town until Friday, then off to Bethlehem (like the blessed virgin Mary) for Musicfest with an old college roommate. I'll head back west from there via Traverse City, MI to celebrate my birthday with another college friend. By the time that's over, summer will be close on it's heels, and I'll be starting yet another school year, cherishing the great summer road trip adventure...

  8. Loved the reunion!!! Loved the breakfast!!! Walter, where did you get to? Like Peggy, I saw you from across the room, then you were gone! Susan Hughes & I looked all over for you.

In the same way we were inspired at the 20th class reunion, some members of the Fredon contingency talked about another Fredon reunion...all 32 of us.

Even though it was impossible to talk with everyone, it was wonderful to be in the same place together. Truly a monumental event.

  9. Hey Sabrina!
Glad we got to at least SEE each other! I was telling my mom about who was there and she told me where Sue lives I pretty much drive by her house on the way to work every day....go figure.
Yes, that Fredon thing interests me and I guess it had a lot to do with the small class size. I am really only in contact with Danny (and I understand you are also).
Sorry if I didnt get to connect with everyone(thanks for the shout-out Ellen) but when the boys start talking about cars....

  10. Mike,
I hope that you're not experiencing post partum depression after that lengthy process of birthing the reunion. But I do hope you're enjoying some well deserved rest. Long live King Mike!

    Walt,
I hope to return before another 10 years pass. The reunion reminded me of how important it is to keep connected with friends from long ago. I also felt homesick driving around with Sue on all those back roads in Fredon. We even stopped at the school & saw the wall of tiles! Great memories!

  11. Congratulations to Mike and all those who helped to make this reunion a lifetime memory!

For me it was a weekend rush of emotions, nostalgia and renewal of old acqauintances. The faces of my childhood classmates (Linda, you still lookin good girl!), walking the halls of NHS, and visiting the old homeplace and haunts. WOW!!! It was overwhelming.

I brought home to my mother a piece of hosta she planted 52 years ago on Sussex St., pile of photographs and memories I will treasure.

Mike, thank you for the invitation. A special thanks to Vince Kice who suggested visiting Jersey again.
